An Everton Takeover Rumour? During a Winless Streak? You Don’t Say…

So what looked like the chance to get 12 points from four games and fly up the table turned into the opportunity to flap around in mid table like Tim Howard trying to gather a cross into his 6-yard box.

Seriously – Bournemouth, Palace, Norwich and Leicester City. 3 points. That’s just mental and clearly not good enough. I think most things have been said about what our problems are, including concentration at the back, poor tactical management, terrible goalkeeping and profligacy in front of goal from our ‘in form’ strikers.

So what has come out of the woodwork? A ‘war chest’ for the upcoming transfer window? Details on an ‘impending’ decision on the Walton Hall site for the new stadium? A potential new owner? It is? Oh, okay…

So a ‘US consortium’ involving John Moores (no, not that one – a Texan this time) has reared its head just in time for Xmas. Apparently a £200m bid is has been put in which is being looked into, with a decision to be made in the next 6 weeks.

Of course we’ve been here before, and I would hope that this time Bill won’t be travelling to a bedsit in Manchester to try and conclude the deal (*sigh*) but for now I guess we’ll have to wait and see. The timing isn’t great (unless you’re in charge of selling the half-season tickets) as it means that we’ll spend the entire transfer window fending off other clubs whilst hoping that the deal is suddenly announced and we can make a marque signing like Man City did with Robinho the day the Arabs took over.

Knowing us we’ll probably spend the same amount on a fat, old Robinho, who will never play. #evertonthat

Looking at some articles on the internet he appears to be an utter rotter who will steal all our money and drive the club into the ground before trying to sell us on to investors like he has done with several teams in the States. Maybe it is legit then…

Looking ahead to the Xmas period, we have a run of games that should bring a sack full of points for us, but then again I said this before the Bournemouth game so, let’s face it, we could be brilliant and come away with draws and defeats again.

I’d love to more positive as this team has the potential to be absolutely brilliant with a tweak here and there concerning certain players that ‘must not be dropped’ and a tactical transplant inserted into the manager.

Talking of which, some sites are actually starting to question Martinez as we have done recently…

Newcastle United will have been boosted by a few wins recently that included a great win over the RS and that could prove to be an open and entertaining match. I’d hope that there could be plenty of space available for Barkley and Deulofeu to run into so the space left behind midfield. It also, unfortunately, depends on the defence keeping their shape and old flappy-hands not getting himself in a muddle again…

Stoke at home on the 29th will be a horrible, horrible game, which we will lose 1-0. I’m just putting it out there now so we can all accept what is going to happen and move on. Granny-headed Hughes will pack the defence and midfield, and Jonathan Walters will bundle the ball home at a corner as Howard throws his arms around and prepares to starjump.

Blimey, I’m actually quite angry about it already.

Merry Christmas everyone!!
